When admitting students, the university's admissions committee considers high school grades. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.1. Before submitting their documents, applicants must take an English proficiency test. The university accepts IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL scores. The IELTS score must be at least 6.5. The TOEFL score must be 90 or higher. Applicants must have the ACT or SAT subject exam. An IB diploma is a plus.

Master's degree
The university's admissions committee always takes into account a student's previous undergraduate academic performance. To confirm their English proficiency, an IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL language test will be required. The minimum TOEFL score for admission is 60. An IELTS score of 5.5 or higher is required. UCD offers online master's degree programs.

University College Dublin's suburban campus combines features of both urban and rural campuses. Situated outside the city, it allows for a more focused academic experience. Yet, it's not too far away, offering access to a wider range of recreational activities, both outdoors and within the city (theatres, museums, restaurants). During their time at the university, students have access to the university library, where they can complete homework and write research papers.
